This past weekend, I taught a great kettlebell workshop at CrossFit USA in Berlin, CT. My good friend Merle McKenzie, the owner, did a great job hosting and everyone who attended was full of energy, enthusiasm and ready to learn!
The seminar was a full day format that ran from 9am to 3pm. I taught all the kettlebell basics with a short break for lunch followed by a CrossFit WOD that Merle put everyone through. Yeah, because you need a WOD to go along with 8 hours of kettlebells…
I taught:
- The Swing (one hand and two hand variations)
- The Clean
- The Press (Strict and Push Press variations)
- The Snatch
- The Get Up
I also showed a few more advanced moves like the Open Hand Clean and the Bottoms Up Clean and Press.
It was an outstanding kettlebell workshop and I want to sincerely thank Merle and CrossFit USA of Berlin, CT for hosting me AND everyone who came out on a cold Sunday to learn some kettlebell stuff!
One “highlight” of the event for me was watching my friend Russ get in his first ever CrossFit workout. Here he is relaxing at the end:
Merle definitely knows his stuff and knows how to motivate people. If you’re interested in CrossFit be sure to look him up at CrossFit USA.
