Learn How to Train Safely and Sensibly, with Minimal Equipment and Get Exceptional Results in Just a Few Hours a Week. At Home.
Since 2008, I’ve taught my unique style of kettlebell and fitness training to hundreds of people from all walks of life including athletes, martial artists and regular, busy, working people.
I teach an experience-honed blend of bodyweight and mobility training, authentic Russian-style kettlebell training and other effective fitness methods from every era and genre.
Over the years, my clients have included successful doctors, nurses, a pastry chef, attorneys, accountants, restaurant owners, stay-at-home moms and master martial artists. I’ve trained athletes, police officers, semi-professional cage fighters and several people who were nearly 100lbs over weight.
I work with both men and women and my client base tends to be about 50/50 between the genders.
I work with people who want to move, perform and feel exceptional in their daily lives.
My typical strength and fitness coaching client is over 40 years old, has a demanding career and/or family obligations and is committed to training for the long haul.
Safe, sensible and sustainable strength and fitness training over 40 years old is all about:
- Long-Term Consistency
- Small and Achievable Goals
- Intelligent and Individualized Exercise Selection and Program Design
- The Right Exercises Done with Proper Form
- Healing and Reversing Movement and Flexibility Issues
I’ve spent my life immersed in all things health and fitness.
Since 2008, it’s been my job to deliver safe and sustainable fitness results to my clients – in person and online.
Our Training Must Change as Our Bodies Age
Training over 40 is as much about healing and reversing movement problems as it is about workouts, strength and progress.
Adam is amazing! I have had a bad back for over 20 years.
In the course of a few months of training with Adam I have been able to reduce my visits to the chiropractor from twice a week to one every three weeks.
His understanding of what exercises I need to do to strengthen my core and improve my general well-being are outstanding. He is able to work with my limitations and still push me to be able to do more than I thought I could.”
Iain Menzies-Runciman
Typical fitness programs are too intense, incorporate unnecessarily dangerous exercises and are performed too frequently for typical, working people.
– Su Melville
I have been working with Adam for 4 months now and I have to say he is brilliant! I’m an over forty desk job worker who hates the gym… so starting from the beginning when it comes to fitness!! Adam is really good at working to my level and getting me interested in the exercises so that I’m concentrating on form and working out without realising that’s what I’m doing – I have gone from being unable to do anything that involves upper body strength (I couldn’t even do a push-up against a wall) to doing sets of push-ups on my knees and I think I will get to my goal of a full push-up soon!!!”
Whatever point you’re currently at in your health and fitness, I can move you safely, sustainably and reliably toward more strength, better flexibility, stronger cardio and more overall health and well-being.
Training Safely, Sensibly and Sustainably Over the Long Term
Health first. Health first in your muscles and joints and health first in your systemic response to exercise.
You can’t make training progress if you’re sick or injured.
Around 2008, as the mega-intensity fitness, warehouse gym craze took off, I saw athletes piling up injuries, loosing training time and generally setting themselves up for severe pain and problems as they aged. Many needed hip and/or shoulder surgeries in their 40’s and 50’s.
Why Everyone Gets Hurt at the Local Extreme-Fit Gym
Combine mega-intensity fitness training with age and stress, sit a lot, ignore restorative and “prehab” work, train too often and injury is inevitable.
Getting hurt is not a necessary byproduct of exercise.
I have longevity as a working, professional coach because I understand how to keep people moving well and free of injury over the long term.
Exercise should protect you from stress, not become another stress on the body.
Strength and fitness training can actually be a healthful, restorative and positive pursuit when done properly.
The specific exercises and general movement patterns I teach keep your body healthy, free of injury, robust and moving smoothly.
My methods for programming your daily workouts and longer-term training keep you hormonally healthy and help insulate you from emotional stress, too.
Strength and Fitness Training Doesn’t Have to Be Complicated, Confusing or Time-Consuming to Be Effective
I’ve spent over two decades around martial artists. I’ve developed my coaching and training methods in some pretty intense environments over the years.
My strength and fitness coaching was developed in training environments where:
- Performance results were the primary focus
- Bodies needed to stay healthy and mobile for martial arts training and competition
- Training needed to be time-efficient and effective
It’s a funny thing about martial artists, military personnel and Law Enforcement Officers. They need their strength and fitness training to help them perform their jobs.
They can’t be nursing injuries and movement problems. Moving and physically performing well can be a matter of life and death in some environments.
The training is about performing better in life.
And this is the perfect training for people over 40 with demanding lives and careers of all kinds.
It’s perfect for mothers and fathers who want more energy and longevity for their children and grandchildren.
It’s perfect for people with the inevitable health problems that come through aging and modern living. (By the way, I can help you with a lot of these too…)
It’s also exceptionally well suited to people with autoimmune health challenges.
Training with me is about performing better in your life.
Over the years I have had my share of personal trainers. I was spinning my wheels until meeting Adam Farrah. In a short period of time, Kettlebell training has transformed my abilities. I have experienced marked increases in my strength, balance, coordination, and flexibility. Adam is a great motivator with the knowledge to tie all aspects of training together.”
– Russ C, Wallingford, CT
I was out on the bicycle twice this weekend. I felt great. Even with a nasty workout sandwiched between my rides, I felt stronger than ever at this time of year. Thanks for the tools.”
– Brett S, Hartford, CT
It’s Not About the Equipment – Train Safely and Effectively at Home with Minimal Equipment and Limited Space
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, most of my clients trained at home in between sessions with me.
Having a regular at-home practice is essential to great results and training consistency over 40.
The style of training I’ve perfected and taught all these years is perfectly suited to a post-pandemic world and online, at-home training.
A few kettlebells, a mat, a foam roller. Just a few simple tools. We don’t even need any tools to get started.
Simple, minimalist, portable and no electricity needed.
Learn to Train and Coach Yourself Effectively in the Process
My coaching and training is highly principled and organized.
I’ve been taught by some of the best of the best in the strength and fitness training worlds.
When you train with me, you also learn to train yourself effectively.
Adam’s specific focus on technique and correct form have not only supported me in my fitness goals but have also allowed me to gain the skills needed to work out independently with confidence. I no longer have to worry about looking like an idiot and injuring myself in the gym. If you’re a beginner and not sure where to start or you’ve been working out for a long time and you need some fine tuning then Adam’s keen eye for the finer details will suit you down to the ground. I am motivated to keep going back because I’m getting a great work out and I’m learning something new each and every session. Two for One!”
